Abstract |
The study of the thermodynamic limit for black holes in loop quantum gravity can be carried out in detail by using the combinatorial/number-theoretic methods introduced to compute their entropy in this setting. The talk will review the basic mathematical techniques, show how they can be effectively used to understand the interesting substructure displayed by the statistical entropy of microscopic black holes, and discuss its asymptotic behavior for large horizon areas. The talk will end by arguing on the necessity to correctly implement the thermodynamic limit and the physical consequences of this. |
