Title |
Hybrid gravitational waveforms and phenomenological templates for binary black holes | |||||
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
The search and interpretation of gravitational waves from coalescing binary black holes crucially relies on efficient and accurate signal templates. One way to predict full inspiral-merger-ringdown waveforms is to combine post-Newtonian results with numerical-relativity data in hybrid waveforms. An entire set of such hybrids can be used to build analytical "phenomenological" template families, and I will review current advances and issues in the construction of both hybrid waveforms and the resulting template families. |
