kappa-Minkowski description of spacetime foam | |||||

Abstract |
Over the last decade Wheelers idea of spacetime foam, which had been previously of mere academic interest, was the focus of a dedicated phenomenology using a possible foam-induced blurring effect of images of distant quasars. While previous studies of this scenario could only rely on heuristic arguments, we have formalized spacetime foam using k-Minkowski non-commutative spacetime. Through this we propose a manageable and rigorous approach for predictions on the fuzziness of the worldlines of particles, providing new insight relevant for the phenomenology. |
