Dyson Schwinger equations in quantum gravity | |||||

Abstract |
We review the structure of Dyson Schwinger equations for a renormalizable quantum field theory first. There, they can be understood most properly using the underlying mathemetical structure of a perturbative expansion: the resulting Hochschild cohomology identifies Green functions as fix-points of non-linear equations of motion in this cohomology. We then show that for quantum gravity, the maximal ideal of this cohomology might render gravity renormalizable, and discuss the role of field diffeomorphisms in this context. |
