Title

Results of the CRESST II Dark Matter Search
Co-authors CRESST Collaboration

Abstract

In 2011, the CRESST II Dark Matter search completed 730 kgd of data taking operating $CaWO_{4}$ crystals. The simultaneous detection of the phonon signal and the scintillation light allows the discrimination of different types of the interacting particles. A WIMP signal manifests itself by low energy nuclear recoils. In the acceptance region of the detectors, 67 events where observed in total. A maximum-likelihood analysis shows that these events cannot be accounted for by known backgrounds alone. The excess signal however is compatible with the signal expected from a low-mass WIMP.
