Title

Quantum enhancements of the future gravitational-wave detectors sensitivity
Co-authors

Abstract

Recent significant improvements in mitigation of various noise sources in contemporary gravitational-wave (GW) interferometers entitle us to say that the next generation thereof will be largely limited by the quantum fluctuations of laser light. Therefore advanced quantum measurement techniques capable of pushing the quantum noise down several times in wide frequency band naturally come to the forefront and become the indispensable part of the future interferometer design study. Here we give an overview of the potential candidates for implementation in the future generation GW interferometers among various quantum measurement schemes and analyse advantages and drawbacks thereof in view of realistic models of non-quantum noise budget of future devices.
