Title

Nuclear symmetry energy and new degrees of freedom at higher density in compact star
Co-authors

Abstract

The density of nuclear matter at the core center of neutron star so far observed is believed to be much higher than the normal nuclear density. The recently observed neutron star, PSR J1614-2230, invokes an interesting issue on what is the relevant EoS for the central region of neutron star, particularly on the degree of freedom at the core. The strange particles, involving hyperon and/or kaon as well as strange quark matter, are among the candidate. we discuss how the stange degree of freedom can be evolved in terms of nuclear symmetry energy as density is growing. The effect of strange degree of freedom on the neutron star mass as well as other astrophysical observable opportunities will be discussed.
