Supernova Cosmology: From SNLS via PTF to PESSTO | |||||
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
The Supernova Legacy Survey 3rd year results give an equation-of-state of dark energy, w, consistent with -1 with a 6.5% precision. This uncertainty is dominated by systematics arising from the SN Ia photometric calibration, and, at a lower level, systematics from an incomplete knowledge of SN Ia astrophysics. I'll show how these issues are being addressed by the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF), and will discuss the future potential of the Public ESO Spectroscopic Survey of Transient Objects (PESSTO). |
