Abstract |
E.A. Hinds, S. Truppe, R.J. Hendricks, S.K. Tokunaga and M.R. Tarbutt Centre for Cold Matter, Blackett Laboratory, Imperial College London, London SW7 2BW, United Kingdom M.G. Kozlov Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, Gatchina 18830, Russia The two lowest lambda doublets of CH, at 3.3 GHz and 700 MHz, are being measured in our laboratory. We have determined the 3.3 GHz interval to 1 ppb and are now measuring the lower frequency interval. Comparison of these frequencies with radio astronomical data tests sensitively for the possible variation of fundamental constants, as proposed by Kozlov [1]. I will report on our results and on the limits they currently impose on such a variation. [1] M.G. Kozlov Phys. Rev. A. 80, 022118 (2009). |
