The long and short of the matter: gravitational waves from neutron stars | |||||

Abstract |
I summarize some of the recent developments on neutron stars as sources of gravitational waves, including continuous-wave signals (deformations of neutron matter and exotica) as well as short bursts associated with magnetar flares (elastic and magnetic issues) and coalescing compact binaries (more elastic issues and the effect of the equation of state on the merger). |
