Abstract |
I will discuss recent developments in understanding double compact objects: NS-NS, BH-NS, BH-BH mergers. In particular I will talk about evolution of massive binaries that are progenitors of double compact objects and describe NS/BH mass spectrum. These most promising gravitational radiation sources are subject of very active observational and theoretical investigations. I will present the most recent empirical and theoretical predictions for advanced LIGO/VIRGO detection rates and describe "my best bet" for the first detection. |
