Title

Emission of jets in Cyg X-1 and Cyg X-3
Co-authors

Abstract

We study models of emission of jets, using constraints imposed by the flux at the turnover frequency and constraints from the observed X-rays and upper limits at GeVs. They allow usto measure the magnetic field strength and the distance of the base from the center. The results are applied to Cyg X-1, in which a jet component dominating the MeV emission has been claimed. Cyg X-3 in the soft spectral state has been detected at >0.1 GeV, which spectral contribution presumably extends to hard X-rays. Its amplitude in hard X-rays can be constrained by the observed X-ray spectra and by an orbital modulation, measured by the Swift/BAT. The resulting constraint on the jet contribution can be then used to estimate the jet magnetic field and the jet power.
