Abstract |
Considerable effort has been put into developing holographic models of strongly coupled physics in low dimensions with applications to various condensed matter systems in mind. These models extend the conjectured gauge theory - gravity correspondence to include interesting field theories without supersymmetry and they provide a new theoretical handle on certain strongly correlated electron systems that are resistant to conventional field theoretic methods. The gravitational description involves novel geometries that are of interest in their own right. |
