Gravitational Waves from Core-Collapse Supernovae and Collapsars | |||||

Abstract |
Based on our multi-dimensional neutrino-radiation magnetohydrodynamic simulations, we report the signatures of gravitational waves (GWs) from core-collapse supernovae and collapsars. By employing different nuclear equations of state (EOSs), we discuss how we can unveil the information of EOSs by observing the GW signals. We also point out the importance of multi-messenger astronomy (i.e., the coincidence analysis of GWs, neutrinos, and electromagnetic waves) to pin down the mechanism of the central engines hidden under the thick veils of massive stars. |
