Gravitational waves from black hole-neutron star binaries: dependence on neutron star equations of state | |||||

Abstract |
Black hole-neutron star binaries are one of the most promising sources of gravitational waves (as well as binary black holes and binary neutron stars) for Advanced LIGO, Advanced VIRGO, and KAGRA. Such binaries will tell us important information of the equation of state for the neutron star matter through the tidal deformation and disruption of the neutron star. It is also expected that a black hole-accretion disk system formed after the merger will be a central engine of short-hard gamma-ray bursts. We will present our quantitative results of black hole-neutron star binary mergers obtained by numerical-relativity simulations performed employing a wide range of parameters including neutron star equations of state, focusing on gravitational-wave emission and disk formation. |
