Scalar field Hadamard renormalisation in pure AdSn with a general coupling | |||||

Abstract |
This talk discusses the propagation of a massive neutral quantised scalar field generally coupled to pure AdS having an arbitrary number n of space-time dimensions. The definition of the physical observables of such semi-classical theories of gravity generally requires the use of renormalisation techniques. This talk illustrates Hadamard renormalisation in higher dimensions, exemplified by the calculation of the prototype of objects representing physical observables, namely the renormalised vacuum expectation value of the quadratic field fluctuations. The calculation of the expectation values of the renormalised stress-energy tensor with respect to the vacuum states will then also be outlined. Simplifying effects on calculations due to the symmetries of AdSn will also be highlighted. |
