Title

Exploration of dense QCD inhomogeneous phases in a strong magnetic field
Co-authors

Abstract

In this talk I will explore the effects of a magnetic field in the formation of chiral and spin density waves in dense quark matter. For the so-called quarkyonic matter, the pairing between particles and holes close to the Fermi surface has been shown to produce the formation of a quarkyonic chiral spiral. I will show how the explicit breaking of the spatial rotational symmetry by the magnetic field and the lack of the spin degeneracy of the zero Landau level give rise to the formation of a second chiral spiral, one formed by pion and magnetic moment condensates.
