Abstract

Space-based gravitational waves detectors will observe a large spectrum of sources providing new informations for the field of astrophysics, cosmology and fundamental physics. In the past, number of studies has shown the huge capabilities of the ESA-NASA mission concept called LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna). Due to the recent adjustment in ESA programs, a new mission eLISA/NGO (based on the old LISA concept) has been defined during the last year. In this context, studies using the new mission baseline has been done for understanding its scientific potential. In this talk, we will review the capabilities of eLISA/NGO and the associated scientific returns and we will concentrate on observations of Galactic binaries and Massive Black Hole Binaries.
