Circular geodesics and accretion disks in geometries with naked singularities | |||||

Abstract |
We investigate here the structure of circular geodesics and accretion disks in spacetimes that do not contain a black hole. We show that the physical observable features of such metrics can be considerably different from those of black holes of the same mass. We suggest that if the singularity is resolved at some quantum level these models can describe 'exotic' compact sources in the universe. |
