Title |
High-energy emission from pulsars and pulsar-wind nebulae. | |||||
Co-authors | ||||||||
Abstract |
Most of the pulsars' rotational energy is lost via a wind, comprised of relativistic particles and magnetic fields, and high-energy radiation from the magnetosphere. I will review and summarize observational properties of pulsars and pulsar-wind nebulae, paying particular attention to the cases where the observational results challenge our current understanding of pulsar winds and pulsar magnetospheres. I will also comment on possible analogies between magnetized white dwarfs and pulsars. |
