Talk	Oral abstract	Title	Multivalued Fields for Defects in Spacetime and Gravity

Abstract	I show that by following Dirac's method of creating magnetic fields in field-free space by using multivalued gauge transformations, one can create curvature and torsion in Minkowski spacetime by performing multivalued coordinate tranformations. These also permit tranforming curvatue and torsion into each other, completely, as in Einstein's teleparallel description of gravity, or partially, leading to an infinite variety of equivalent theories.
