Abstract |
Magnetar QPOs provide us with a rare chance to probe the interior physics of neutron stars; this has motivated much recent work on them. Despite this progress, it has been conventional to assume a barotropic stellar model, whereas magnetars are expected to have stratified interiors with superfluid neutrons. We discuss equilibrium models which account for this multifluid physics, and present some first results showing the effects on magnetar oscillations. |
