Abstract |
The instanton representation of Plebanski gravity (IRPG) is a formulation of gravity where the basic variables are a gauge connection and a three by three matrix. We present an introduction the IRPG, demonstrating how Einsten's General Relativity follows from the formalism. The IRPG appears conducive to the description of gravitational instantons, and inherent in its solutions is a clean separation of physical from gauge degrees of freedom. We present an example of an exact solution obtained using the instanton representation method, which appears to be new. |
