Matter Interactions in Effective Field Theories of Dark Energy | |||||

Abstract |
It is currently fashionable to construct models of dark energy using effective field theory techniques, with at least four distinct approaches recently appearing in the literature. The motivation behind these approaches is to develop a formalism in which dynamical dark energy can be constrained from cosmological observations. In attempting to be as general as possible in these formalisms, interactions between the dynamical dark energy and matter should be included. We discuss recent work incorporating such interactions into effective field theory approaches, including both background and perturbative descriptions. |
