Abstract |
NuSTAR id a NASA Small Explorer mission that for the first time carries to orbit telescopes based on focusing hard X-ray (5-80 keV) optics. This makes it about 100 times more sensitive than previous instruments operating in the same energy band. NuSTAR has been succefully lauched in a nearly equatorial orbit on 13 June 2012 and is currently completing the commissioning phase. We will describe the scientific capabilities of this new facility and present the satus of the satellite in these very early stages of the orbital operations. |
