Title

The Distorted Wheeler-DeWitt Equation
Coauthors

Abstract

Even if a full and complete theory of Quantum Gravity and Quantum Cosmology is absent, the Wheeler- DeWitt equation appears as a natural instrument for the quantization of the gravitational field. In this context we setup a Sturm-Liouville problem with the cosmological constant considered as the associated eigenvalue. We will discuss the effects of some modifications of General Relativity, like Gravity's Rainbow and Horava-Lifshitz theory on the Wheeler-DeWitt Equation. An application to inflation will be discussed.

Title

Gravity's Rainbow and Traversable Wormholes
Coauthors Francisco S.N. Lobo

Abstract

In the context of Gravity's Rainbow, we compute the graviton one-loop contribution to a classical energy in a traversable wormhole background. The form of the shape function considered is obtained by the equation of state p = ωρ. The investigation is evaluated by means of a variational approach with Gaussian trial wave functionals. Instead of using a regularization/renormalization process, we will use the distortion induced by Gravity's Rainbow to handle with divergences. A comparison with previous work is presented.

Title

Rainbow's Stars
Coauthors Mandanici, Gianluca

Abstract

In the context of the modification induced by Gravity's Rainbow, we show that, in certain conditions the energy density obtained by quantum fluctuations of the vacuum can be interpreted as a Dev-Gleiser model for a compact star. Application to the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations are also presented.
