Searching for FRBs with the Effelsberg 100-m Telescope | |||||

Abstract |
The future of fast radio burst searches with the Effelsberg telescope is bright. We are working on deploying a realtime search that piggy-backs on the all-sky High Time Resolution - North pulsar survey, which makes use of our seven-pixel L-band feed array. Using triggers from this realtime system, we hope to enable immediate follow-up with telescopes like the Low Frequency Array. In the next year Effelsberg will have a phased array feed with 36 pixels and a system to search for FRBs in realtime. With this massive increase in the instantaneous field-of-view, we should find a large number of FRBs. |
