Volkov-Akulov Supergravity, Anti D3-Brane and Spontaneously Broken Supersymmetry | |||||

Abstract |
I will consider models of inflation that use supergravity with a nilpotent superfield leading to a Volkov-Akulov-type action as introduced first by Antoniadis, Dudas, Ferrara and Sagnotti and later generalized by Ferrara, Kallosh and Linde. I will discuss how the uplifting term in these models has a natural connection to an anti D3-brane. I will provide further proof for that by considering the case of an anti D3-brane in a supersymmetric curved background. This is based on work done with K. Dasgupta, R. Kallosh, A. Van Proeyen and T. Wrase (JHEP 1505 (2015) 058). Finally, I will briefly mention a possible generalization of this work to M-theory. |
