Title

A fundamental test of gravity with a LISA Pathfinder
Coauthors Trenkel, Christian

Abstract

The LISA Pathfinder satellite, to be launched later this year, offers a unique opportunity to perform transits through the Sun-Earth saddle point and map out the gravity gradients in this special low-acceleration regime. This would provide an extension to the current range of verification of Newtonian gravity (and GR) within the solar system, pushing the accessible acceleration regime down by a factor of 30 towards the scales more typical of galaxies and beyond. This talk will describe this proposed extension to the LISAPF mission, show the scientific grasp of such an investigation and discuss implications of any deviations from expectations.
