Title

Kinematical backreaction in cosmological N-body simulations.
Coauthors Roukema, Boudewjin F.; Buchert, Thomas; Ostrowski, Jan

Abstract

The backreaction of inhomogeneities is becoming a well established paradigm of describing inhomogeneous structure of the Universe. We investigate this approach by testing consistency of cosmological N-body simulations when they evolve non-linear structures. Using the Delaunay Tessellation Field Estimator (DTFE), we calculate kinematical backreaction "Q" from simulations on different scales and compare statistically with relativistic approximations and solutions in order to measure how much N-body simulations should be corrected for this effect. This is the first step to create fully relativistic and inhomogeneous N-body simulations.
