Abstract |
The stability of hairy black holes with mixed boundary conditions is studied. It is shown that the Schrödinger operator governing the spherically symmetric perturbations allows for non-trivial self-adjoint extensions, each of them corresponds to a class of boundary conditions of the designer gravity type. Thus, a new condition for stability is bringed in, namely that depending on the overall sign relating the slow and the fast branch, the black holes can be either stable or unstable. |
