An Experimental Analysis of the Upcoming LISA Pathfinder Differential Accelerometry Measurement | |||||

Abstract |
LISA Pathfinder (LPF), to be launched in the Fall of this year, aims to demonstrate the sub-femto-g/sqrt(Hz) differential acceleration measurement capability needed for the eLISA gravitational wave observatory and possibly for other ambitious gravitational experiments. In this talk we address how LPF can achieve this several order-of-magnitude improvement on existing acceleration measurements and present a noise model for the expected LPF performance, based on a growing body of experimental evidence from ground tests with flight and flight prototype hardware. |
