Abstract |
In the last decades, the high-power laser technology has advanced so dramatically that the most powerful lasers, irradiating matter, can produce highly extreme physical conditions similar to those observed in the space. In this talk, I present two frontier results in the experiments of ultraintense laser-matter interactions: acceleration of protons up to 93 MeV with radiation pressure and acceleration of electrons up to 3 GeV with laser-induced plasma wave. Not only the basic mechanisms and the applications of these results but also their implications to astrophysics research are discussed. |
