Title |
Seeing the B-Modes Through the Interstellar Dust | |||||
Coauthors | ||||||||
Abstract |
Everywhere in the sky the signature of the B-modes in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) is submerged in foregrounds. To get at the B-modes in the CMB, we must measure and model the interstellar dust and/or foreground synchrotron emission to of order 1%. I will discuss the polarization measurements of CLASS and PIPER with emphasis on the foregrounds. This leads to a discussion of PIXIE. PIXIE will measure the dust intensity and polarization over hundreds of frequencies, including frequencies at and beyond the peak of the dust emission. This will allow fitting the dust at each of 49,152 pixels on the sky, allowing a detailed understanding and measurement of the dust. |
