Abstract |
We present a study of the high energy properties of the microquasar Cyg X-1 within a multiwavelength context using data acquired at 15 GHz with the AMI-Ryle radio telescope. The observations are separated into hard, soft, and intermediate/transitional states. We study their radio properties and perform spectral fits to the 10--2000 keV INTEGRAL state resolved spectra. We detect radio emission in the hard state that is associated with a compact jet. At high energy a 0.4-2 MeV hard tail is also clearly detected in the hard state spectra only. We then present the spectral state resolved polarization properties of the high energy data and obtain evidence for polarized signal only in the hard state 0.4-2 MeV range. The polarization fraction and angle are ~75% and ~40°. We discuss those findings and conclude that the compact jet is the probable origin of the high energy tail in the hard state. |
