Abstract |
Liquid noble gases detectors are of great interest for direct dark matter searches. These detectors have energy thresholds of order of 10 keV to measure nuclear recoils induced by dark matter particles. The combination of liquefied noble gases excellent scintillation properties with the addition possibility to drift electrons released in the ionization process make a unique feature of these detectors to disentangle nuclear recoils against background signals. In this talk the main characteristics and results of detectors in operations based on liquid xenon and liquid argon will be reviewed. |
