Title

Coherent State Operators in Loop Quantum Gravity

Abstract

Coherent states are used in all areas of quantum physics, where they are used to approximate semiclassical behaviour. However, it is also known that coherent states can be employed to construct operators. This feature has been studied in the context of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Cosmology, but is rather unexplored in Loop Quantum Gravity. In this talk, I will present how coherent states can be used to uniquely associate to a function on the phase space an LQG operator, which has inbuilt semiclassical properties while at the same time preserving typical quantum attributes (e.g., discreteness of spectra).
