Title

Long-duration Gamma-ray Burst Classification in Induced Gravitational Collapse Model
Coauthors

Abstract

In the Induced Gravitational Collapse (IGC) model of Gamma-ray burst (GRB), the initial system is composed of a massive FeCO core and a neutron star. The FeCO core collapses to a supernova (SN) and emits its ejecta which has a few solar masses, the companion neutron star accretes a part of the SN ejecta then reaches the critical mass of the black hole if two stars are close enough. IGC model classifies GRBs to two families by whether or not a black hole is formed. In this talk, we will discuss the classification of long duration GRBs and the consequent physics and observational phenomena, such as the peak energy in the prompt emission, flares in the afterglow, the existence of GeV photon emission, the behavior of afterglow ,and the optical signal of supernova appearance.
