Quantum Reduced Loop Gravity

Abstract

We present the recent developments of Quantum Reduced Loop Gravity (QRLG), a gauge fixed version of LQG. In particular we show a derivation of Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQC) as an effective semiclassical description of QRLG, based on the use of coherent states suitable to describe a Bianchi I Universe. Our results are in agreement with a lattice refinement framework for LQC, thus the so called “old” and “improved-dynamics” regularization schemes can be reproduced. The leading order of the fundamental theory corresponds to LQC, but we also find different inverse volume corrections. We also outline how the formalism can be extended to include a scalar field. These achievements open the way for a consistent analysis of Quantum Gravity corrections to the classical dynamics of gravity in the presence of a scalar field in a cosmological setting.
