Supersymmetric AdS4 Black Holes |

Abstract |
I will discuss recent studies of supersymmetric black holes in Anti-de Sitter spacetimes. For many years regular supersymmetric AdS black holes were very rare finds but recent advances have greatly developed this position. These black holes are found in gauged supergravity theories which can sometimes be embedded in string or M-theory. I will outline the key features which have led to these recent developments and summarize various holographic strategies to understand their microscopic structures. |
