Talk Title

The formation, evolution and star formation history of Nuclear Stellar Clusters

Abstract

Nuclear stellar clusters (NSCs) are known to exist around massive black holes (MBHs) in galactic nuclei. Here we study the scenario where they form through the infall of multiple globular clusters (GCs) by means of direct N-body simulations. In particular we present models set up with data from the Milky Way (MW) bulge, GCs System and MBH. We run several simulations also including the presence of an intermediate-mass black hole (IMBH) in each GC. Due to dynamical friction, the GCs decay and form a central NSC that exhibits many of the features of the MW NSC. This scenario also produces signatures in the form of age segregation, leading to efficient mass segregation in NSCs. The IMBHs, if present, inspiral and segregate to the core of the NSC where they act as massive perturbs, affecting the stellar distribution and the tidal disruption and GWs emission event rates. Finally we will discuss the evolution of stellar disks in NSCs, studied using both analytical and numerical tools, and their contribution to the formation of Nuclear Clusters.
