Talk Title

Double Neutron Star Systems: Recent Finds and Mass Measurements

Abstract

In this talk I will summarize our current knowledge of double neutron star systems, with a focus on several recently discovered systems. I will discuss several previously noticed trends and some newly apparent ones - and what their astrophysical significance might be. I will then list the most up-to-date mass measurements for the binaries and also for individual neutron stars in them. It now appears that the birth mass distribution might be substantially wider than though even a couple of years ago.
