Talk Title

Cosmological Constraints On Majoron-Neutrino Interactions

Abstract

Neutrino masses can be produced from the spontaneous violation of an ungauged lepton number symmetry. In this case, a Nambu-Goldstone boson, the Majoron, appears. The Majoron could mediate non-standard interactions between neutrinos that would affect the evolution of perturbations in the neutrino fluid. In my talk I will show how cosmological observations, especially those of the anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background made by the Planck satellite, can be used to constrain the Majoron-neutrino coupling. In possible, I will also discuss the impact of other astrophysical observations, like those of SN1987A, on these constraints.
