Talk Title

Van der Waals black holes

Abstract

In this talk I will describe an exact black hole solution whose thermodyamical properties are those of the van der Waals fluids. These black holes are discussed for arbitrary number of dimensions and various horizon geometries. These black holes live in AdS space, and the cosmological constant is treated as a pressure, in the so-called extended phase space. I will discuss the properties of the effective source of these holes, as well as the energy condition of the latter. I will make contact contact between the parameters of the van der Waals equation of state and the usual Tangherlini Black hole or the planar black hole.
