Status of the Advanced LIGO Interferometers |

Abstract |
In the past year, the installation of the advanced LIGO interferometers was completed, and both instruments are currently engaged in noise-reduction efforts leading up to the first data-taking run in September. In this talk I will describe the novel instrumentation and techniques used in advanced LIGO, provide details of the commissioning efforts at both observatories, and outline the expected sensitivity improvement in the coming years. |
