Potential Tests of Gravity with the Triple System |

Abstract |
The millisecond pulsar PSR J1023+0038 is in a hierarchical triple system containing two white dwarfs. The presence of a radio millisecond pulsar in such a complex system allows us to study the system in exquisite detail using pulsar timing. We have already determined nearly all system parameters, and we are working on a test of Einstein's Strong Equivalence Principle. The tremendous density of the pulsar offers the possibility of a test more sensitive than the best current tests by at least an order of magnitude. I will discuss our progress towards such a test and the obstacles that remain. |
