Renormalizable Nonlocal Theories Of Quantum Gravity

Abstract

I discuss an attempt to overcome the problem of nonrenormalizability in quantum gravity by relaxing the locality assumption. The Einstein action is corrected by terms that contain arbitrarily many derivatives. If those terms are organized properly, the divergences of the theory are still local, and can be removed in a relatively easy way. I present the main features of the nonlocal theories of quantum gravity and discuss how predictive they can be.
