Talk Title

Precision mapping of Dark Matter distribution in galaxy clusters

Abstract

In this talk I will present a detailed mass reconstruction of the CLASH-VLT galaxy cluster RXJ2248. We have used a total of 16 strongly lensed sources, 10 spectroscopically confirmed by our extensive spectroscopic campaign, of which 2 are new identifications. By using strong lensing techniques, we have reconstructed the observed HST multiple image positions with an offset of ~0.3 arcsec. With this data set, we have also been able to estimate the values of the cosmological parameters and to start quantifying the perturbing effect of the mass structure along the line of sight.
