On the Planck Legacy Catalogue of Sunyaev-Zeldovich sources

Abstract

I will present the Second Planck Catalogue of Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) sources detected by Planck from the 29-months full mission data. With 1653 detections, the catalogue is the largest SZ-selected catalogue of galaxy clusters, and the first one containing more than one thousand confirmed objects. I will describe the methods we used to assess the completeness and statistical reliability of the catalogue and the multi-wavelength search for counterparts. I will discuss the physical properties of the sample and describe a population of low redshift X-ray underluminous objects revealed by the SZ selection. I will also show some preliminary results on the dynamical state of Planck selected clusters, compared to X-ray selected samples.
