Abstract |
Newtonian gravity is an approximation to general relativity valid in the non-relativistic and weak field regime. We will discuss how one can relax the second condition to obtain an effective theory describing non-relativistic but strong gravitational fields and review how this theory takes the form of Newton-Cartan gravity with twistless torsion. We then set out to explore the physics contained in this theory by studying various examples. |
